Dying swans swim in lakes of black
Filled with tears that fell long ago
A child walks across the sand
Toward the angels of the shore

No mother's voice to guide her home
No father to answer the call
Her brother's tears fall silently
There is no one there at all

She must learn much to young
The fates are cutting threads
When the setting sun brings nightmares of home
The river is turning red

No mother comes to dry her tears
No father to fight her fears
Her brother just a distant memory
Of the darkness of these years
