Lucid Dreams of a Cryptic Poet (part III - Where Eternity Beckons)
I gave my twisted fate to the embers of existence
Goodbye I guess it couldn’t wait for new world order
I had to satisfy the quietus inside my mind
The petals long since fallen from the rose
A secret garden where stories were once told
Now she goes in search of children’s laughter
They’re gone like ghosts that never mattered
She cries with no tears left to fall
She tries but there is no one there at all
Her pain she carries for her fear and sin
Her name is whispered in the wind
She won’t let the monster in
Her life she lays it on the line
Her words a stitch in time
She writes upon a tree
The words once told to me
Her spirit watching over me
Show me the path to the feet of Anubis just like the scripture says
Weigh my heart against the feather
I know my fate let thy will be done and guide me to the fires
My shadow will tip the scales
On your heart is etched a map of your soul you carry till the end
I’ll greet the devil with a smile
I will gladly shake the hand of the ferry man with one golden coin
To journey down the river
Lost souls surround the banks of the damned not one wears a smile
Have they ever known a heart
One can believe but no one sees the truth what’s behind the final curtain
The everlasting question
