Prologue

I had a dream once
A dream of hope of love of happiness
Every time I closed my eyes I saw her
Every time I allowed my thoughts to wander I thought of her
There was a time when I could pick up my six string and play
Play for hours the notes the melodies they would just come as if from the heavens

There was once a hero of mine
A man who passed away many years before I was born but
His music
It moved and inspired me beyond anything in the world and it has often been said
If you listen to the wind you could still hear him play

But the wind died down
The lights went out
And she was gone but my love for her was not
The last flame of the candle flickered and died no matter how much I tried to hold it
When I close my eyes I can still see her but her it is not
It is another speaking words through her
When I allow my thoughts to wander once more I think of her
But now all I feel is pain
Because there is no love left in her for me
The flame has long since burned for the last time
There is no longer...a candle in the night
